5000 training sessions and counting for Positive Impact
Vision care sales and training company, Positive Impact recently celebrated delivering its 5000th in-practice training session at Robert Frith Optometrists in Twickenham, supporting its claim of being the UK’s No.1 provider of in-practice learning. The company, that specialises in its consultants visiting optical practices on behalf of client companies in the optical industry, now boasts over 1500 practices in the UK and Ireland have benefitted from its unique business model.
Maxine Green PI co-Director commented “We are delighted to hit this landmark in just over 2-years from delivering our first training session. Training delivered, to all the practice team, within the practice during normal business hours is extremely convenient, cost-effective and inclusive; we also have strong evidence that increasing knowledge, increases sales”.
Practice Manager Kash Fatania commented, “We know that keeping everybody in the practice up-to-date with the latest products, as well as learning new skills, is essential. Atkins Nominated as DO of the Year
Positive Impact co-Director Nick Atkins has been nominated as Dispensing Optician of the Year at the forthcoming AOP (Association of Optometrists) Awards. The Award is given for the dispensing optician who has done the most to promote and expand the role of dispensing or who has brought the benefits of optics to a wider audience and is voted for by readers of the associations bi-weekly magazine OT (Optometry Today).
On news of his nomination Nick commented, "I am as surprised as I am delighted and honoured to be nominated for this Award. It is nice to know that, whilst it is a while since I worked in practice doing what I originally trained to do, my business and not-for-profit activities have been deemed as worthy of recognition."
The Award winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the forthcoming NOC Conference in Kenilworth on 3rd November. Votes can be cast until 23rd October and for more details or to vote visit www.optometry.co.uk

Bench planning to make a positive impact in new role
Former D&A and Boots Opticians Contact Lens Category Manager, Jonathon Bench has joined forces with in-practice sales and training company Positive Impact. Bench, pictured right being welcomed by Positive Impact co-Director Nick Atkins, will provide consultancy services for Positive Impact client’s that require assistance with developing and selling their product or service into optical chains, large or small.
Maxine Green, co-director of Positive Impact revealed “I have worked with Jonathon for many years successfully launching products into D&A on behalf of employers and clients. Jonathon and I always enjoyed an excellent working relationship for mutual benefit, so I’m delighted he has agreed to join our network of consultants. His category management knowledge, coupled with his professional skill set, makes him a valuable member of our unique optical team”.
Jonathon Bench stated, “ I’m very pleased to be able to bring my skill set to the already extensive service provided by Positive Impact. To date the business has focussed on representing client’s products primarily in the independent sector and now I plan to help extend that service. I am looking forward to working with clients to ensure their offering is thoroughly prepared to meet the high demands and expectations required of multiple practice sector; thus helping to ensure that a listing is achieved in the minimum time-frame with commercial executions that deliver sales for the practices to the benefit of all parties”. |
